An event attended by huge numbers of people of all ages (including families) from across the city and beyond, it is truly an embracing of diversity (see blog post for 28 June 2009).

With the City Workers strike in full swing during our visit, many of the local events planned for Canada Day had to be cancelled. So we celebrated at the biggest event, at Ontario Place, where impressive fireworks are launched from a cargo boat moored in Lake Ontario.
