Alex Cuba at the Mod Club, Toronto, 10 April.
This was our first club gig in our new life. Alex is from Cuba, but came to Canada in his early 20s and lives in BC. His music, though rooted in his Cuban heritage, crosses many boundaries (Funk, Jazz, Rock and more). Check him out!
Luminato Reflections
Luminato - Stage, Queens Park, Downtown Toronto June 2010. So wonderfully casual; the jogger on his nightly run crosses in front of the stage and others cycle through . . . There was also an accompanying food festival.
Mezcla, a Cuban band, on stage. This was their first tour of North America in some time. George Bush banned Cuban artists from the USA (though, of course, they have always been welcome in Canada).

The Beach from the Boardwalk - Toronto at play on Canada day as sunset painted a pastel sky before offering up a dark canvas for the celebratory fireworks.
